Ibogaine saved my life. My PTSD was so bad I didn't just walk during night terrors I jumped 20 FT from my second story stair railing. I coded three times.

The PTSD caused headaches so bad I would have seizures and go into shock.

The opiates needed to control the pain were just part of my life. Not a good life for a mother of two.

I was unable to find a safe ibogaine center so decided to go it alone. My treatment almost killed me. I was inexperienced and accidentally took double the recommended dose. Think of it like shooting the absolute amount of drugs your body could handle without actually dying of an OD and doubling that.

I fought hard to live for the three days I was overdosing and merged a new person.

Now clear headed and with a new altruistic mission in mind I am starting a non-profit ibogaine clinic to treat both VETS and those who have fallen and cannot get up.

Since my last post about SH I have received countless messages with complaints via my FB account alone, LUCKILY from people who knew better then to go to him for treatment after just speaking with him. They found me after deciding to try and debunk their gut feelings in most cases. 

To this day I have never received a dime from any center or anything related to my work helping addicts. I will continue to help in every way I safely can on a non-profit basis. I have been approached by many ibogaine providers offering generous kick backs for referrals - I am NOT for sale. My purpose is to help those who need and deserve it. 

The ones I felt might be legit I counter offered with an in depth evaluation of their center but instead of monetary kick back to me a fund would be setup so I could use it to get people help who cannot otherwise afford it. NO TAKERS. 

The potential victims all got a 'bad feeling' after talking to Charles and then Googled him, drug rehab scams and found my blog or somehow managed to hit the link to my ibogaine FB forum.

Comments I received from the various potential victims were:  

"I got the feeling he'd just toss my body in a ditch if I died"
"He asked me to score him Oxycontin, over 2000 dollars worth as part of my payment after I told him I could pay the 8500 hundred he quoted in cash, and we scheduled an arrival date - then he told me I was not ready for treatment if I wasn't willing to give up my truck as well"
"I walked into the center and every instinct I had told me to run the other way so I did"

"He told me the price then asked if I owned a car or home"
"He scheduled me to come down but didn't ask me one medical question only to bring a check for 8500.00 and the pink slip to my 2009 F150. Most got the same line he tried to pull on me, "It doesn't matter what I ask you are not ready for treatment if you are not willing to give up EVERYTHING you have to get it.

I was really hoping to not have to hear about those guys ever again but this week I received a phone call from a very distraught patient regarding Charles Johnson, formerly of Safe Haven now doing his damages at the Ibogaine University.

I guess my blog needs more updating because I feel awful this patient didn't see it in time.

You'd think after going to the trouble to create a entirely fresh facade you'd avoid fresh scandals but my impression of Charles Johnson was he was a dangerous man with the charm and manipulation skills one might expect to see in only the stealthiest sociopaths and I witnessed an entitled sense of cruelty over the slightest provocative. Such as my unwillingness to put my homes deed in his hands and bring a car for him to have as well, plus demand I take one more doc visit to score him a months worth of my opiate meds. .

He twisted the arrangement little by little as if he was doing me all the favors but he was very eager to trade my technical expertise as a win-win for treatment when I called merely to check the price. He charmed me and made me believe he cared about helping me. He investigated my assets behind my back. 
Assets that were NEVER on the table.

I could have taken an unrelated web side job to pay for treatment, which I had intended to do but he made me feel sorry for him, stating business was slow and his web presence needed help. I thought fate, no looking for a separate short term project - one stop for me and I would be helping a healer find people to heal.
Not since marrying (and later fleeing) my first husband can I remember eating so much crow.

The more time I put in the more abusive his interactions with me became.

That is why I put this blog up ~ to undo my wrong doing by standing behind someone who I should have been warning others about.  

Since that I do not recommend ANY center without first visiting it. Center are welcome to invite me to visit. 

The Ibogaine Universities newest victim will be working on a 'report' for me to follow up on. I am not pressuring her to make it quick because some emotional distance from any damages she experienced will provide a more accurate and fair report for both sides of the coin.  HA

Because of the email threats I received regarding my own Safe Heaven post her name will be kept out of it.

I gave Charles an opportunity to write up whatever he wanted in his defense of my posting about my frightening experience with him and my arrangement with Safe haven. He made the choice to submit nothing.

Charles Johnson has a website for The Ibogaine University claiming to be the 'only' licensed ibogaine center. Bullshit.. There is no credible ibogaine licensing organization to provide such accreditation. There are too many claims on his website to bother addressing what I so strongly believe are blatant lies.

I filed my complaint with the only 'known' ibogaine watchdog org calling itself the Ibogaine Trust Alliance. But the director and apparently sole investigator, I felt advocated for Safe Haven to negotiate a dollar amount to remove this blog.  I don't sell truth or removal of it.

When I found out Safe Haven would be 'generously' providing the expenses and plane tickets for the  investigator to INVESTIGATE possible safely issues and financial abuse of patients, I lost all faith in the process and organization.

I removed myself from the process. as it felt way too much like a way for the owner to pay his way into a clean report he could later boast about.

I will post AKA, Ms. Winters story as soon as she is well enough to send it to me.

Got my drug treatment and it worked!!

I finally got my ibogaine treatment full cost 6500 bucks, worth way more IMO and it was well worth the trip to Costa Rica.

I made a vacation of it after my three day treatment.

It wasn't easy finding a place right for me but it, the countless hours of research and phone calls ~ paid off.

I'm sorry it has been so long since I posted.
I started a fresh detox on Sunday, Today is Friday.

It was awful. I forget how awful it truly is. I was sure it was going to kill me this time.

I had 8 Subutext pills left over from last time. I used them up during the first two days then the real pain began.
It began when I thought it was over, when I thought I couldn't take anymore.

My horrible experience with Safe Haven Ibogaine Treatment Center and its owner Charles Johnson sent me into an opiate consuming rampage. I consumed 70 MG of Dilaudid a day for about two weeks.

I am still here despite promising to die a shamefully lot and out of bed for the first time since Sunday. The fight has just began.
The very first email I had the pleasure of reading was a threat from Safe Haven for speaking the truth on my blog.

Here is the email that started my first clean day. Copy & pasted below poor grammar and all.

Not that I'm one to criticize grammar nor do I appreciate a grammar nazi and quite frankly I would expect nothing less from a 'man' who tries to barter, make that BULLY me into obtaining opiates to give him as a supplement to our agreed payment arrangement. He 'needed' them for his other patients, sure he did. .

Hey bitch,

We read what you posted about Safe Haven.  You beter remove it or we will sue your ass and make your live hell. You r lying about Safe Haven. 

We know where you live so u better listen.   Respond to us confirming removal of false acusations.

Safe Haven ibogaine treatment center scammed me - scary

Safe Haven Ibogaine Treatment Center ~ Tried to extort me.

Capo by The Sea a traditional Rehab center through negligence and substandard care almost killed me, I will post that experience tomorrow.
At least with Safe Haven I managed to avoid being trapped in their out of country clinic. 

Ok here was the deal. I sought Ibogaine treatment at Safe Haven. 

I learned and experienced some very frightening things.

Liquid assets are beyond tight for me.  A home I owe too much on and one paid off working car that the ex uses to go to work, take my son to doctors appts and me to my many hospital visits and doctor appts. I have a meager college fund setup for my son, I suppose I would use it if I found myself a homeless single mom. 

Charles the CEO at Safe Haven said I could work off my treatment.

I have an extensive IT background. I endless excellent references and a 100% client satisfaction rate.I provided my resume and letters of references from both employers and past clients from my IT/IS consulting business. 

After I did the agree upon work, even documenting each task and hours spent he demanded I ALSO give him everything I own too in order to begin treatment. A complete bait and extortion switch! He even demanded I lie to my doctor and get my regular opiates to give to Safe Haven. 

He is also refusing to pay the professional business invoice I sent to compensate me for my time, funds I earned and I could use to seek treatment at a reputable center. Over 90 hours of top quality work. 

Until he got greedy he said the finished work was worth the 8k treatment price. 

Charles said I was ready for treatment, I earned it and he could get me in next week. But then he attempted to fast talk me and extort every asset I have as additional payment. 

Here are some direct quotes flung at me by the CEO of Safe Haven, Charles Johnston. 
He was manipulative beyond reproach. 

• Bring your car, you can get a ride back
• Don't tell your doctor about getting treatment get your regular medications and bring them to me, I need them to help other patients detoxing
• Your son doesn't need a college fund right now
• Bring me the deed to your home

• Giving up these things is part of the treatment
• Ibogaine will allow you to rebuild and get better things
• If you have a problem with this then your not ready for ibogaine treatment
• Your refusal to part with your material things is prf yur not ready for ibogaine treatment
• I'm trying to help you but you're an addict so don't get it
• Just paying for the treatment alone is not enough to make you really get it, you will once you experience ibogaine

I have never had a client dispute services rendered or the high quality of my work. Safe Haven was satisfied with my work until I also didn't fall for the btw give us everything else you own too for treatment scam.

When he, Chalres the CEO of Safe Haven couldn't say I needed to give him all my assets to make up for some deficit in working off my treatment he spun it like part of my treatment plan. You need to be willing to start from nothing for ibogaine to work was one of the any things he said to try and manipulate me. Your not ready for treatment if you can't give what I ask.

In Summary: The deal was I would do SEO work under the direction of his SEO guy to earn my treatment.

I did every SEO task asked of me and self driven social media projects which I went above and beyond to Safe Havens benefit.  Now I must undo the potential danger I put others in by recommending they give SH a call! I am so sorry they seemed like a nice place with a CEO willing to let me work off my treatment, but that was just lies a way to gain trust to steal the assets I have and my professional experience and over 90 hours of it.

I acted under my business umbrella but as a junior developer and consultant instead of my usual Sr. Business Management Consultant and Lead Engineer functional titles which brings in a rate of 240-120 an hour depending on the actual tasking. Every client has always felt those rates were well worth it.

But I deeply discounted my rate to 80 an hour because I was happy for the opportunity to earn my treatment. I also haven't done a project in a while and would be doing what I was told by the SEO guy at Safe Haven so that was a fair wage to calculate the treatment earning arrangement.

In a nutshell: My hourly to calculate earning the 8k admission fee would be 80, not the usual 240 for SEO consulting or 120 for social media creation and maintenance.

At 94 hours completed I submitted my work breakdown. Enough to cover the non-discounted price of treatment.

People I have spoken to true professionals Eric Taub and Lex pioneers in ibogaine treatment and they said the above is absolutely not true. Trying to extort and take advantage of addicts seeking help is the opposite of what the ibogaine movement is about. 

After treatment you will need your car, home and any funds you can use to put your life back together. 

A doctor must not really be avail at Safe Haven because the medications Charles demanded of me (Diluadid and OXY) are easily obtainable in Mexico where the treatment center is or the CEO is a drug abuser and wanted them for his personal stash?

I had a neurologist and pain doc in Mexico for a while and got my meds at TJ pharmacies no problem.

I offered to put in more hours after treatment where'd I'd be in a position to speak to the actual process and what it entitled making my social media campaign much more valuable.But he then wanted that too and all my assets.

He rambled on about how I could just rebuild everything after treatment.

Safe Haven preys on the most vulnerable demographic and extorts everything they own, even bare necessities needed when putting ones life back together.

I spoke with Eric Taub and Lex at I Begin again and they were extremely supportive and said they would help me get the treatment I need.

I Begin Again said I will need a home to go back to a family vehicle and don't dare touch my sons college fund.

Safe Haven said part of treatment was becoming a penniless, vehicle less homeless single mother.

I learned the hardest of way that Safe Haven is anything but safe and the CEO will try to manipulate you into taking everything you have left when your mind is vulnerable and susceptible to his scamming lies and BS - even if it means coming back from treatment homeless, vehicle less and with zero funds to get back on your feet.

Don't get sucked in. They don't have even a doctor so they can get medications patients may need or Charles wanted them for personal use. Either way too many red flags. Telling me to lie to my doctor abut getting treatment so I could obtain my regular opiate medications for Safe Havens use was a very dangerous demand.

When I said No, he accused me of being a junkie BUT not wanting to lie to my doctor to get pills under false pretense does not make me a junkie. But sadly for about an hour and before speaking to the folks at I Begin Again I believed him, 'maybe I was just showing junkie behavior'. He is that good a manipulator.
 

There is noway I'd get myself stuck in a foreign country with these guys. I guess the constantly non-working phone really was a sign. I feel it would be irresponsible to not warn others.

Learning a lot of hard lessons about the so called resources who help addicts.

I know there are good places out there. Don't give up, I'm not and I will find a safe place for myself and others to go.
